TEKSUN, INC. was originally started in 1938 as an individual undertaking and developed a process whereby optical grades of finishes could be established on metal surfaces. At this time the activity was known as TECHINCAL SURFACES, LTD., a limited partnership.
Processes were developed to establish optical surfaces on metals. This unique technique was in demand for production of molds to produce plastic optical components for World War II, such as gas mask lenses, astrodomes, and related optical components including tangent wing camera reflectors.
In 1946 the company changed from a limited partnership to a corporation to be known as TEKSUN, INC. Following this, operations diversified into electronics for U.S. Government programs, producing synchro servo amplifiers, two-way communications equipment, audio amplifiers, and filters.
In 1956, the company refocused exclusively on compression, injection, and transfer molding of plastics. Since then, operations have been dedicated to this type of production on a subcontract basis, primarily supporting electronic components for both civilian and military applications.
Most tooling used for production is customer-owned. Teksun has also produced a limited number of molds for shells and containers used in solid state modules. All machinery and equipment used in operations is company-owned, with no government-owned or leased equipment utilized.
Production support centered on repeatability, clean execution, and demanding customer requirements.
Structured inspection, documented verification, and disciplined release controls for confidence in delivered product.
Documented control from receiving through shipment, with traceability, accountability, and continual improvement focus.
Our quality practices support documented receiving, controlled production flow, in-process checks, final verification, nonconformance control, and retained records that help customers trust the result.
